Senior Living That Looks and Feels Like Home

Making the move from independent living to an environment with more assistance is a significant and often emotional step. At Cannon Country Senior Living, we deeply understand these challenges and strive to make the transition easier for our residents and their families. Central to this commitment is our unique approach: offering the comfort and familiarity of a real home. Rather than the overwhelming and impersonal atmosphere of a large institutional setting, we take pride in offering genuine homes, that are warm and inviting and located in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood.

Our senior living homes are a refreshing divergence from conventional senior housing. You won’t find endless hallways, cumbersome elevators, or daunting staircases here. Instead, we’ve designed our unique facilities with comfort, accessibility and ease of use in mind. For instance, our dining room is mere feet away from each resident’s suite.  And our wheelchair-friendly parking is just a short, safe distance from our welcoming main entrance.

At Cannon Country Senior Living, residents aren’t just another number. They are cherished members of our community, deserving of dignity, respect, and the very best in care. Our superior staff-to-resident ratio, coupled with our authentic home-based cares approach allows us to deliver the essential care that you or your loved one needs in an environment that truly feels like their home away from home.

Our Premium 3-Room Suites

Our homes are purposefully crafted for assisted living. Each home includes five distinct senior living apartments, each seamlessly connected to common spaces, fostering privacy, access to care and a sense of community. Imagine a place where residents can enjoy the autonomy of their spacious three-room suite — comprising a master bedroom, expansive living area, and accessible master bathroom — and yet, step out to mingle, dine, or engage in activities in our common areas, including kitchen, dining area, and living room.

Meet Our RN & Caregivers

At Cannon Country, our Clinical Nurse Supervisor is Theresa Benda, RN. From the moment you join our community, Theresa seamlessly integrates into your healthcare journey, collaborating closely with your physicians to enhance your overall well-being and comfort. Rather than simply reacting to health concerns as they arise, Theresa takes a proactive stance. With her deep understanding of geriatric care, she often catches subtle changes in a resident’s physical or emotional states that might otherwise go unnoticed. For instance, recognizing early signs of dehydration, mood shifts that could indicate a medication imbalance, or even spotting the beginnings of a pressure sore. By addressing these early, she not only prevents bigger health issues but also ensures residents’ continuous comfort. She diligently tracks every resident’s ailments and medical conditions, promptly updates their doctors on any emerging concerns, and works closely with their medical team to identify and schedule optimal treatments or medication adjustments. Her goal? To ensure not just the best health outcomes, but also a richer, fulfilling, and happier life for each resident at Cannon Country.

Also, continuity of care is vital for seniors. With Theresa’s hands-on approach, residents don’t face the unsettling experience of constantly changing medical personnel. They build trust with her, knowing that their health is monitored by someone familiar who truly understands their unique needs and history.

Theresa also works closely with families, keeping them informed and offering guidance on how they can contribute to their loved one’s well-being. Families often express their peace of mind knowing that such a diligent and compassionate RN is part of their loved one’s care team.

Dear Dean and loving staff at Cannon Country Living,We cannot express our appreciation enough for the unconditional care and compassion given to our dear Aunt while living at Cannon Country Living. Even through her very difficult and trying times and the Hospice process, you and your staff showed genuine care and empathy.Your staff and residents were always welcoming and friendly during our visits. This quaint setting of a beautiful home that has 5 living quarters has such a warm feel and is as close as possible to what her private home was like. Couples live there too without being separated due to their cognitive or physical needs.May each of you be blessed abundantly for your extraordinary care. All the best to you as you open another such place in Cannon Falls.Dave and Kathy Reuter

Finding a new “home” for an aging parent can be very difficult. When we first visited Cannon Country, our family knew this was the perfect place for our Dad. And he agreed! Being a farmer his entire life, our Dad was a quiet, humble man who appreciated solitude. Cannon Country provided a very comfortable home for him with the scenery of still being out in the country. The staff was caring and accommodating of his independence. He was able to go at his own pace throughout the day, while always being treated with dignity, respect and warmth. One of the most compelling reasons for choosing Cannon Country was their ability to provide care through end of life. He never had to make a transition to another facility. Our Dad felt very at home at Cannon Country.

My family has been very happy with my parents' experience at Cannon Country. It is homey, comfortable, and the staff is very accommodating. The staff to resident ratio is a primary reason we chose Cannon Country. Staff is extremely caring and encouraging of appropriate levels of resident independence. The residence itself is in a quiet country neighborhood. We've gone on many walks on the neighborhood sidewalks and walking paths. One of the things that I personally appreciate the most is the accommodations that the staff have made for family gatherings and to help with the transition for my parents to assisted living. Thank you to Dean and the staff for working with us to ease this transition.
